2001 XC Recap:
Cracked 26 minutes on the UCSB Lagoon course for a time of 25:59. Made the top 9 of the team's conference championship squad.

2001 Track Recap:
Clocked a best of 4:02 in the 1500m. Ran a 3:05 1200m opening leg in distance medley relay.

Personal Info: One of the Gauchos most academically-accomplished athletes. Recently awarded Golden Eagle award for his outstanding classroom performance as a microbiology major.In high school, Salmi was De La Salle's only valedictorian and was admitted to all universities he applied including Yale and Princeton. Also a talented musician, Darren is familiar with playing numerous instruments. Cites The Dave Matthews Band as his most admired group.
