2006 Track & Field: Cuevas notched good Freshman marks in the steeplechase and in the 5,000m. At the Cal-Nev. Championships he set a steeple best of 9:35.42. At the Dual Meet versus Cal Poly SLO he just missed his 5,000m best by one second when he finished with a time of 15:08.69.

2005 Cross Country: A good early season for the Freshman had him finish as the Gauchos seventh runner at the home opener versus Cal Poly SLO with a time of 25:40. At the UC Irvine Invite, he finished right behind two teammates in 15th place and then went on to have another strong showing at the Stanford Invitational where he notched a personal 8k best of 25:17 in a deep field. Finishing off the season well, he grabbed an 11th place finish at the Titan Invitational with a time of 25:19.
