Men's Preview

The men had an excellent start to the season two weeks ago at the Mark Covert Classic with the team taking second overall behind Cal Poly 60 to 73, with sophomore Nick Randazzo taking the overall individual win. The men of Cal State Fullerton were also not too far behind with 79 points in team scoring at that meet, so this weekend's competition could end up being a very tight battle for conference bragging rights. With the top group consisting of Randazzo, team captain Yousef Baddour, and Brian Schulz, the Gaucho men are eager to see who will step up as the weekend approaches.

Women's Preview

The start of the season for the women has been less than ideal with the team placing sixth at the Mark Covert Classic, but the coaching staff has stated previously that this particular group of ladies have the potential to make an impact as the season progresses. Newly minted transfer Astrid Rosvall, who took seventh overall at the Mark Covert Classic, has made a quick impact on the team as the No. 1 scorer at the last meet, with top returner Katie Camarena not too far behind in thirteenth. If both are firing on all cyclinders, the two could mix up well with the leaders come Saturday. Senior Miranda Ross should also be in contention for top scoring position as she was the No. 3 scorer at the Classic. If you include freshman pair Emma Overell and Kyla Ramsey who were just behind Ross at the Classic, the women might just find the redemption they've been looking for earlier than expected at their home meet.
