Cross Country head coach Pete Dolan will host a barbecue at his house in Goleta after the race, and all alumni and their families are invited. Come and relive the glory days with past teammates and connect with other gaucho greats. RSVP is required to Amanda Moreno for those wishing to attend.
The race will also be the first installment in the 2013-14 school year of the Blue-Green Rivalry between the Gauchos and Cal Poly. Since the Mustangs made the jump to Division I in the 1990's the Blue-Green Rivalry has been one of the fiercest in collegiate athletics. Last year, UCSB narrowly came out on top over the Mustangs by a score of 15-14 in regular season competitions. To learn more about the Blue-Green Rivalry, click here.
Earlier in 2013, a UCSB student referendum was passed that earmarked over $2 million for improvements to Pauley Track as part of a larger shared athletics facilities improvement. Consider contributing to the Gaucho Fund in order to ensure that the new track facility is unveiled as quickly as possible and is of the utmost quality.
