Cross Country Season Kicks-Off With Annual Lagoon Open Sept. 3

The 2011 UC Santa Barbara cross country season will open on Saturday, Sept. 3 with the UCSB Lagoon Open. Three races will be contested, beginning with an Alumni/Community 5k at 9:30 a.m. The women's Open 5k will be held next at 10:30 a.m., and the men's Open 8k will begin at 11:00 a.m. The staging area will be behind the University Center (UCEN).The Open races will feature the teams from UCSB and Cal Poly, and are also open to unattached and club elite athletes. Remember, all of UCSB's alumni athletes are members of the department's letterwinners program, The Gaucho Order.
