UCSB Drops UCSD Tournament Finale to UC Davis, 7-6

LA JOLLA, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara outscored UC Davis 4-2 in the second half of its final match at the UCSD Invitational Sunday, but it wasn't enough as the Gauchos dropped a 7-6 decision to the Aggies.
Trailing 5-2 at halftime, UCSB used a pair of goals from sophomore Coulson Lantz and one each from Chris Lantz and Dane Lindstrom to make it close. In fact, the Gauchos held the Aggies scoreless in the fourth quarter of the match.
Earlier in the day, UCSB defeated UC San Diego's "B" team in a scrimmage, 10-9.
The loss to Davis drops the Gauchos' record to 1-2 on the year.
UCSB returns to action on Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 10-11, when it travels to the Inland Empire Tournament, hosted jointly by the University of Redlands and the University of La Verne.
