2009: Played in 21 games for the Gauchos...Scored
three goals during the season, including one in a narrow loss to UC
Irvine (Nov. 14)...Posted two steals, two earned penalties or
ejections and two field blocks...Also scored goals against Cal
Lutheran (Sept. 6) and Air Force (Sept. 19). 2008:
Played in one contest during his freshman campaign...Tallied one
steal. 2007: Redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL
A four-year letterwinner at Righetti High School...Helped the
Warriors to four consecutive league championships...Led Righetti to
the CIF semi-finals in 2004 and 2005 before taking second in
Division IV during the 2006 season...Was an All-PAC 7 selection for
three consecutive years, 2004-06, and capped his four-year career
with PAC-7 MVP honors in 2006...Earned All-CIF honors during both
his junior and senior seasons...Played under head coach Kyle
Shaffer.
CLUB
Played club with Pepperdine Waves Water Polo Club with which he
won the National Age Group Championship in 2005...The Waves also
took second at the National Junior Olympics in the 16&under
bracket that same summer, which he names as his most memorable
athletic achievement.

Samuel Clayton Evans was born on March 21, 1989 in Santa Maria,
Calif....Son of Mark and Colette Evans...Has an older brother,
Trent and a younger sister, Maggie...Has yet to declare a major at
UCSB but aspires to one day pursue a career in computer
science...Enjoys surfing and playing disc golf when not in the
pool...Names "Endless Summer" as his favorite movie while "The
Catcher in the Rye" is his favorite book...Sublime is his favorite
band...Names his grandfather as his personal hero.
