Nick Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament Set for July 14UC Santa Barbara Athletics will host the first Nick Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament on July 14 at Sandpiper Golf Course. The tournament will honor the life and memory of the former Gaucho water polo who passed away in March. All proceeds will support the Nick Johnson Memorial Fund.

John Abdou Named High Performance Director for USA Water PoloSANTA BARBARA, Calif.– John Abdou, the UC Santa Barbara men’s water polo associate head coach, has been named the High Performance Director for USA Water Polo.
As High Performance Director for USA Water Polo, Abdou will oversee the Olympic Development Program as well as coach and referee development. Abdou has remained an active member in USA Water Polo as ODP East Region Technical Director since 2008. He has also been a part of the coaching staff for the Men’s Senior National “B” Team since 2010.
Gauchos Prepare for UC Irvine and StanfordThe No. 6 men's water polo team will face off against No. 8 UC Irvine at home on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 12 p.m. The Gauchos will then head to Palo Alto to play No. 4 Stanford at 12 p.m.

The team will travel to Irvine this weekend to participate in the competitive SoCal Tournament. UCSB will look to produce the same magic as it did at last year’s tournament where the Gauchos took second place with impressive victories over Stanford and UCLA.
