Five Garner MPSF All-Academic Honors

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Five UC Santa Barbara men's water polo players have been honored with Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic distinction it was announced Wednesday by the conference.

Among this year's Gaucho honorees are senior Brian Shoemaker, juniors Matt Gronow and Teddy Zhang, and sophomores Jake Miller and Bryce Miller.

Those receiving the honor all have achieved a 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average, are of at least sophomore standing academically, have completed one full academic year at UCSB and competed in at least 50 percent of the Gauchos' games during the 2012 campaign.

This marks the fourth-consecutive Academic All-MPSF honor for Shoemaker, Gronow has earned three-straight and this is the second honor for Bryce Miller. Jake Miller and Teddy Zhang are both first-time honorees.

In addition to the five water polo honorees, UCSB had 12 additional fall sport student-athletes garner Academic All-Big West accolades today.
