Gauchos Go 1-2 at UCLA's SAC Tournament

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The men's volleyball team continued its fall season Friday and Saturday at UCLA's SAC Tournament. The Gauchos finished 1-2 with a sweep over Long Beach State and losses against Cal State Northridge and UCLA.

On Saturday, UCSB split its matches. In the morning, UCLA eked out a 3-2 win over the Gauchos. Scores were 30-21, 20-30, 24-30, 30-24, and 15-7 in favor of the Bruins. UCSB went on to sweep Long Beach State in the afternoon. Scores of that match went 30-27, 31-29, 30-26.

Cal State Northridge defeated the Gauchos 3-1 during Friday's opening round of play. Scores were 30-22, 30-28, 26-30, 30-23 for the Matadors.

Both the Matadors and Bruins went 2-1, while the 49ers compiled a 1-2 mark at the tourney.

UCSB will wrap up its fall schedule at Long Beach State's Asics Fall Classic Dec. 1.

The Gauchos will host the University of Alberta in an exhibition match Jan. 2 before opening the regular season with their annual Elephant Bar Restaurant Collegiate Invitational Jan. 4-5.
