Theo Brunner helped lead the UCSB men's volleyball team to a 3-1 win over UCLA in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament quarterfinal at Robertson Gymnasium on April 21.
The junior middle blocker totaled 10 kills with a .421 attack percentage, making just two errors in 19 swings. Brunner also added a service ace, three digs, 15 points, and a match-high seven blocks.
Brunner, who was recently named to the All-MPSF First Team, is hitting .543 this season, which ranks fourth in the country. He is on pace to shatter UCSB's single season hitting mark, set at .486 by Brunner in 2005.
The victory over the Bruins advanced the Gauchos to the league semifinals, where they will take on top-ranked Pepperdine April 26 (5:30 pm) at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu.
