SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Dylan Davis, who will be a senior for the UCSB men's volleyball team in 2013, is one of two collegiate players selected to play for the United States team at the Pan Am Cup in the Dominican Republic.

Davis and the American team opened the Pan Am Cup with a 2-0 record in pool play.  They will play Brazil on Wednesday evening.  Davis is joined by BYU's Taylor Sander as the only collegiate players on the U.S. Team.  In the past, UCSB has been represented in the Pan Am Cup by head coach Rick McLaughlin who coached the squad in 2009 and 2010.

Davis is joined in international competition this summer by incoming freshman setter Andrew Kocur.

Kocur, a native of Toronto, Ontario, is representing his native Canada at the Swatch Youth World Championship, a two-man beach tournament in Cypress.  He has opened pool play with a perfect 2-0 record.

A member of Canada's Junior National Team, Kocur is one of four accomplished freshmen who will join the Gauchos in 2012-13.  In addition, UCSB will add Jacob Delson, a 6-foot-4 outside hitter from Westlake High School, Johah Seif, a 6-foot-8 setter from Thousand Oaks High School and Parker Boehle, a 5-foot-10 Libero from Loyola High School.

Delson and Seif recently played in the U.S. Junior Olympic Championships in Dallas for Legacy 18's while Parker competed for the Manhattan Beach Surf at the same tournament.
