June 11, 2007
Senior track and field standout Eugene Bradley logged a UCSB-record throw of 213' 06" to finish seventh in the hammer event at the NCAA Track and Field Championships last week.
With his seventh-place finish Bradley earned all-America honors and picked up two points for the Gauchos in the team standings.
Bradley's toss established a UCSB record as he improved upon his previous mark of 212' 11", set earlier in the season. He has also now eclipsed the 65-meter barrier, as his mark converts to 65.08m.
Bradley finished eight feet, seven inches behind sixth-place finisher Martin Bingisser of Washington. Auburn's Jake Dunkleberger won the national title with a throw was 235' 09" (71.87m).
