Never running one bad race in '06, Tyhurst set seasonal bests of 3:54.30 in the 1500m at the USC Trojan Invitational, 9:08.20 in the steeplechase at the Mt. SAC Invitational, and 14:24.04 in the 5,000m at the Stanford Invitational. However, he again saved the best for the Big West Championships. Running the 5k/10k double for the second year in a row, he again scored big points for the Gauchos. In the 10,000m on Friday night he wooed the fans with a blistering 59 second last lap to win the event and claim his first Big West crown in a personal best 30:54.91. Then on day two, he would come in fourth place in the 5,000m to solidify fifteen points for UCSB in his third year. Micah is truly a Gaucho to watch in 2007.
2005 XC Recap: Finished 12th at the Big West Championships in a career 8k best time of 24:26.

2005 Track & Field Recap: A determined Tyhurst in '05 dropped his personal bests significantly in what became a fantastic sophomore year. At 5,000m he lowered his 5k mark almost fifty seconds setting a PR at the Mt. Sac Invitational with a time of 14:17.72. In a great weekend of racing, Tyhurst would finish 5th in

2004 Track & Field: Having a good freshman cross country season for UCSB he will be focusing on 1500m and up.

2003 XC Recap: Micah opened the season with a 26:36 clocking at the UCSB Lagoon Open...ran a season best 25:56 at the Stanford Invitational.

High School Notes: Tyhurst was a member of Loyola HS 2002 CA State XC DI Championship team, he finished 15th with a time of 15:41.1 on the Woodward Park 5k course.
