Masterson took ninth at the Big West Championship decathlon with a score of 5980, which included a first-place score in the shot put of 670 (42'9.50", 13.04m)...His best score in the decathlon was 6463, which he achieved at the Sam Adams Multi-Events at UCSB's Pauley Track...Took second in the pole vault at the Big West Challenge Cup with a clearance of 15'1" (4.60m)...Also led the team in the long jump with a mark of 21'2.75" (6.47m).

High School
Was all-league in all four seasons and was All-Sac Joaquin Section one season...Holds Ponderosa High School records in the pole vault, long jump, triple jump, and 4x100m relay... Best marks in high school were 16'2" in the pole vault, 22'3" in the long jump, and 11.01 in the 100m.

Personal
Masterson is majoring in mechanical engineering...Interested in bikes, cars, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, and soccer.
