| Position: | Throws |
This calm, powerful, and precise young athlete looks to reprise his strong
2006 season with another Regional-qualifying mark in the hammer throw.
Though a discus thrower at heart, Reif is one of the smoothest hammer
throwers around, and his impressive personal best mark of 189'02" is the 6th
best mark on the UCSB all-time list. He looks to make himself a little
busier at the West Regional Championships this year by qualifying in the
discus as well. Reif will be a critical point-scorer for the Gauchos, as
well as a solid team leader.
2005 track & Field Recap: Led the Gauchos in the Discus with a throw of 158'01". Also set a personal best in the Hammer Throw with a toss of 165'10" which he set at the Big West Championships. He would go on to take 10th just outside the scoring.
