After two dramatic Regional-qualifying performances in the long jump and 4 x
400m relay at the 2005 Big West Conference Championships, Ryan suffered a
disappointing, injury-marred championship competition in 2006, though he
certainly did not go out without dusting heat after heat in the 100m and
200m sprints throughout the season. Generally known for his deep jumps, Ryan
proved that he could race with the big boys, blazing his way down to a
personal best 10.76 in the 100m and a solid 21.74 in the 200m. This
phenomenal athlete will be a Gaucho to watch in 2007 as he guns for the West
Regional Championships in, potentially, four events.
