Campbell notched a personal best in the 1500m at the Mt. SAC Relays, where he ran 3:53.29...His seasonal best in the 800m was 1:53.24, which he ran in the preliminaries at Cal/Nevada. In the finals he placed fifth at 1:54.43...Competed in the 800m at conference but was unable to advance past the preliminaries, where he ran 1:55.19.
Redshirted the 2008 track season.
Blasted a 1:51.60 at the Cal-Nevada meet to finish fifth in the field, setting a new personal record...That time currently stands as the 10th-fastest in school history...Won the All-Cal Challenge with a time of 1:55.61.
Suffering an early season injury which took him out for a few weeks, he regained his speed for the final four weeks. Running consistently in the 1:56-1:57 range to start 2006, well off his personal best, he dropped a 1:54.39 in the pouring rain at the Pomona Invitational to win his section. Then at the Cal Poly SLO - UCSB Dual Meet, he notched another seasonal best, just .04 off his personal best. After a less than stellar open 400m at the Occidental Invite, he opened up in the 800m prelims of the Big West Championships racing to a spot in the finals and a new best of 1:52.48. Campbell would go on to finish sixth as a true freshman in another good time of 1:53.60.
A standout California 800m runner, Campbell had the second fastest 800m mark in the San Joaquin Valley and 12th fastest prep 800m mark in the state of California running for Oak Ridge in his senior season. He was a State Meet qualifier, San Joaquin Section Div. II 800m champ, and earlier in the year the Sacramento Meet of Champions 800m winner.
