After a successful career with UCSB, Mike Guerra is starting his
first year as a volunteer track and field coach, working with the
throws team. Guerra also works at Cathedral Oaks as a personal
trainer.

Michael Guerra put together an impressive 2012 campaign
specializing exclusively in the Javelin... Started season off
strong by placing 2nd in the Cal-Nevada Championships with a 216-5
in the Javelin... Placed 2nd in the Big West Challenge with a
199-5... Set a personal best 219-1 at the Big West Championships,
earning him a 2nd place finish in the conference... Recorded an
impressive 213-9 at the NCAA Division 1 West Preliminaries, good
for 17th in the region... Won the javelin event at the 2010 Bryan
Clay Invite after throwing a personal best mark of 219-6.

Guerra lettered in basketball, baseball, and football
while at Beyer HS...Was MVP in football and baseball his senior
year...Earned the Coach's award in basketball as a junior...Was
selected for the All-League football and baseball teams his junior
and senior year...Was on the All-Section team for football as a
