Redshirt season. 


Competed nine times for his third year in uniform. Took some early wins at both the All-UC meet and the Big West Double Dual in the 400m hurdles, clocking 53.33 and 52.95 respectively. Would end up having his biggest two day performance at the 38th Annual Aztec Invitational, first opening up in the open section with a new personal best of 51.94 in the 400m hurdles. Myles would better that the very next day in the invitational section with a 51.55, taking down Jamie Starmer's 37 year old school record by a narrow .04 seconds. These performances would have him jump from tying number ten all time from last year to new school record holder in less than 48 hours. Captured another win in his signature event at the Cal Poly Dual meet, running 52.69. Ended up with a 4th place finish at the Big West Conference Championships in the 400m hurdles, just off a podium finish by .03 seconds. Ended the season by finishing 18th overall and 3rd in his heat at the NCAA West Regional meet in 51.86, his second best time of the season, barely missing a qualifying spot for nationals by less than a couple thousandths of a second. 


Competed in ten competitions for the Gauchos during his sophomore campaign. Opened the year with wins in the 400m hurdles (54.40) and 4 x 400m relay at the Round-Up. Claimed runner-up honors in the 400m hurdles at the All-UC, finishing in 54.52. Led the Gauchos to the 4 x 400m win at the All-UC, bringing home the baton in 3:13.56. Helped the Gauchos to another long relay win in the Big West Double Dual, closing in 3:13.12. Took the long hurdle win at the Cal Poly Dual, lowering his then-best to 53.14. Ran a tune-up for conference at the Oxy Invite, finishing with a season's best in the 400m hurdles of 52.69. At the Big West Championships he ran a near PR in the 400m hurdle qualifying round, earning a bid into the final with a 52.70 clip. In the final he placed 6th, covering the one lap hurdles in 52.76. Helped the Gauchos to sixth place 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relay showings at the conference meet. 


McDonald saw action in the 400m, 400m hurdles and 4 x 400m relay during his freshman season. Ran a season best in the 400m at the Bryan Clay Invitational in 50.40. Set a seasons best in the 400m hurdles at the All-Cal, taking third in 57.23. Helped the Gauchos to a second place finish against UC Riverside in the 4 x 400m relay.  Opened the year with a 400m hurdle win at the Gaucho Round-Up in 56.26. 


A talented intermediate hurdler, Myle McDonald will add depth to the Gaucho long sprints and hurdles. As a senior, McDonald won the CIF-SS D2 Championship in the 300m hurdles, setting a lifetime best of 38.66. His second best 300mH time of 38.77 came en route to winning the Mission League title. Ran on the league championship 4 x 400m squad that qualified for the CIF State Championships. Also played football for Loyola High School.


Parents are Lori and Keith McDonald...Has one sister, Blair...Majoring in Economics...Aspires to become an Investment Banker...Father, Keith, played professional football...His Grandmother was the first African American woman to chair a full standing committee in Congress.
