Competed in two meet for his second season. Threw a new personal best of 203' 4" at the 2017 Big West Challenge, taking 2nd. Shut the season down early afterwards due to injury. 


Competed in four meets for his debut season. Made an early statement by setting a personal best at the Gaucho Round-Up, throwing 194' for 2nd place in the javelin. Cracked the 200 foot barrier for the first time at the 39th Annual Aztec Invitational, taking 2nd with a throw of 202' 3". 


Howe joins the Gauchos via Aptos HS where he starred on the hard court for the Mariners. Howe comes from an exceptional family of javelin throwers as his father Ralph was a two-time All-American while competing for UC Riverside and his older brothers, Nick and Nash, both had storied All-American careers at UC San Diego in the event. Howe brings in a personal best throw of 185 ft. and will join a talented group of throwers at UCSB which saw eight men throw over 174 ft. at the Big West Championships in 2015, three of them over the 200 foot mark. Helped Aptos reach CCS and State in Basketball in 2015. 


Parents are Ralph and Cynthia...Has three siblings, Nicholas, Nolan and Nash...UCSB Major is Undeclared...Aspires to get into Sales and Marketing...Competed in Basketball and on the Surf Team for Aptos HS...Enjoys surfing and building things.. Favorite movie is Finding Nemo...Personal heroes are his Father, Brothers, Mark Occhilupo, Rob Machado and Andreas Thorkildsen.
