Stepped into the oval office 9 times for his second year in uniform. Took an impressive win at the All-UC Challenge in the 3000m, taking first in a new personal best 8:30.68, besting the second place finisher a staggering 7 seconds. The younger Guijarro would carry that momentum straight into the next meet, clocking another personal best in the 5000m at the Ben Brown Invitational, running 14:26.62. Bested that time three weeks later at the UCLA Legends Invitational, throwing down a 14:21.16. Seized one more personal best, this time at 10000m, at the Mt. SAC Relays clocking 30:21.47. Capped things off at the Big West Conference Championships by scoring twice for the first time, taking 5th once again in the 10000m and 6th in the 5000m.
2016 Cross Country
Competed in 4 races for the Gauchos. Opened up later in the season at the Stanford Invitational running 24:57.6. Clutched out an incredible performance at the Big West Conference Championships just like he did in track with an 8th place individual finish, scoring as the #3 runner for the team to gut out a 2nd place team finish. Finished the season with a 32:12.1 at the NCAA West Regional Meet for a 112th place finish.
Competed in 9 meets for the Gauchos. Set personal bests at 3000m (8:33.50), 5000m (14:37.56), and 10,000m (30:50.74). Saved his best race for last, as he was one of the only runners in the field set a personal best at 10,000m at the Big West Conference meet - finishing 5th and scoring crucial points for the men's team.
2015 Cross Country
Competed in 6 races for the Gauchos. Set an 8K personal best of 24:35.1 at the Bronco Invite. Was the Gauchos #8 man at the Big West Championships. Bounced back to become the Gauchos #5 at the NCAA West Regional - placing 58th.
2014 Cross Country
Guijarro was a distance standout for Knight High School. He was a Golden League Champion for the Hawks. Set his personal best in the 3,200m at the Pasadena Games. Set his cross country 3 mile best at the Seaside Invitational in 14:59. Was the Rockin Rubideux Invitational champion in the 3 mile.
Son of George Hawara...Majoring in Film Studies...Enjoys hiking...Most memorable athletic achievement was running his 3,200m PR at the Pasadena Games...Personal hero is Peter Parker...His brother, Brian, is a current Gaucho runner, former Big West Freshman of the Year and 2x BW Champion.
