Guijarro led the Gauchos to their first Big West Cross Country team title by winning the 2014 individual conference crown. On the track he captured his first championship in the 10,000m after winning a wild 200m sprint to the tape. Twice he has qualified for the NCAA West Regional in the 10,000m. For his 2014 Big West Cross Country performance, Guijarro was named the Big West XC Athlete of the Year. With one year of eligibility remaining in cross and on the track, this is one guy you don't want to miss in 2015-16. 

2015-2016 Track

2015 Cross Country

Competed in five competitions for his final year of cross. Started off the season with a win at the Lagoon Meet, running 24:55.8. Led the Gauchos at the D1 Pre-Nationals Invitational by placing 32nd overall with the team finishing in 10th out of 42 teams. Successfully defended his individual title at the Big West Conference Championships running 24:01.9. His Big West performance, along with an incredible 2-3 finish from his teammates Anthony Ortolan and Shyan Vaziri, also helped carry the team to another Big West Conference Title, only the second in UCSB history after the team gained their first title last year, narrowly beating Cal Poly in a nail biter scoring 31 points to the Mustangs' 36 points. Guijarro would go on to place 11th overall at the NCAA West Regional Meet, qualifying for his first ever NCAA Cross Country Championships as an individual along with his teammate Anthony Ortolan who finished in 13th. Closed things out with a 138th place finish at the national meet in a time of 31:18.1. 

2014-2015 Track 
Scored 18 points for the Gauchos at the Big West Track and Field Championships, winning the 10,000m and placing second in the 5,000m. Helped the Gauchos place second as a team, scoring the second highest total in team history (167pts.). Went on a tear to start his junior track campaign, winning seven straight races while recording one of the best win streaks in the nation. Moved to #8 AT at UCSB in the 3,000m for his 8:23.61 All UC performance. Lowered his 10k best to 29:11.20 at the Stanford Invite, placing 11th overall. Ran a lifetime best in the 1,500m at the UCR Spring Track Classic in 3:48.87. Competed in the 5,000m at the Mt. Sac Relays, running 14:18.84 for a new PB. Placed 36th at the NCAA First Round in the 10,000m, running 32:04.90. 

2014 Cross Country
Competed in six competitons during his junior cross campaign. Opened the year with a win at the Lagoon Meet, running 25:50.36 over the 8k course. Came back at the UCR Invite and placed eighth in 24:20.1. Took fifth at the Stanford Invite, breaking the tape in 23:39.8 for a 4:45 mile average. Led the Gauchos at Pre-Nationals. Running with the leaders for 5,000m, Guijarro showed that he isn't afraid to run with the nations best. He would go on to place 16th overall in the prestigious Blue Race Division. That race set the stage for the Big West Championships where Guijarro would have the breakout performance of his career. Leading the race wire to wire, Guijarro delivered his first Big West win, crossing the line in 23:47.4, pacing his team to a record low 21 pts. and their first team title in UCSB history. Guijarro was awarded as the Big West Cross Country Athlete of the Year. Placed 31st at the NCAA West Regional, covering the 10,000m course in 30:11.2. Ran in the No. 1 position for the Gauchos in all but one meet (NCAA West Regional). 

Ran a new Pr at the Mt. Sac Relays in the 10,000m, taking third in 29:38.39- moving him to sixth all-time at UCSB in the event. Won three races and captured 12 top-five finishes during his sophomore campaign. Earned his first trip to the Big West podium in the 5,000m after turning in a 14:49.35 bronze medal performance. He took fourth at the Big West Championships in the 10,000m, running 30:12.66. Set a PR in the 800m at the Riverside Dual in 1:54.95. Established a new 3,000m personal bets in the 3,000m at the UCR Spring Break Invite in 8:23.55, placing second overall in the competition. Ran a 5,000m best at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival in 14:25.39. 

2013 Cross Country
Ran in five competitions during his sophomore cross campaign. Turned in a personal best 8k at Santa Clara, clipping 23:58.0. Took sixth at the Big West Championships, running 25:39 over Cal Poly's hilly course, setting the tone as the No. 1 UCSB runner. At the NCAA West Regional he finished 47th overall with a 10k performance of 30:47, running in the No. 2 spot for the Gauchos. 

Guijarro burst onto the collegiate track scene in his debut at the Cal Nevada Championships, where he would record a lifetime best in the 5,000m at 14:38.32. He set a new PR in the 1500m in his second meet in the Gaucho blue at the Cal State LA Invite at 3:51.92. He secured his first NCAA West Regional qualifying bid at the Mt. Sac Relays in the 10k with a 29:41.04 performance. Guijarro had the fourth fastest qualifying mark out of all freshman in the west region. In his first Big West Championship meet he would take 3rd in the 10k and 5th in the 5,000m. 

2012 Cross Country 
Guijarro contested four races for the Gauchos in his inaugural season wearing the Gaucho blue. After turning in a 25:00.1 8k performance in Louisville at Pre-Nationals, Guijarro shaved 38 seconds off his 8k best and delivered a spectacular 5th place Big West finish. His time of 24:22.4 earned him Big West Freshman of the Year honors. He came back at the NCAA West Regional and ran 30:25.2 to place 35th overall. 

Named MVP for Cross Country from 10th through 12th grade…Placed 2nd in Golden League in 10thgrade, 1st in Golden League in 11th and 12th grade…Was named All-American Cross Country in his senior year where he was also a state finalist for Track in the 3200m…Posted record breaking times of 14:19 in the 2.91 mile, 14:56 in the 2.93 mile, 12:10.05 in the 3 mile, and 15:07 in the 5K.
