DES MOINES, Iowa-- UC Santa Barbara Senior Ryan Martin earned All-American honors in the 800m on Friday at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships held at Drake Stadium.
Martin ran 1:46.20 in the 800m finals, finishing fourth and missing the podium by less than two-tenths of a second. UC Irvine's Charles Jock won the event with a time of 1:45.59.
This will be Martin's third-consecutive year as an All-American for his performance in the 800m. Last year he finished 8th with a time of 1:47.62.
Martin will be looking to compete in Olympic Trials hosted by Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., June 21-July 1. Currently, the standard for an "A" qualifying time is 1:46.50. Martin's fastest time this season clocked in at 1:44.77.
