SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - It was another tough day at the Recreation Cennter courts for the injury depleted UC Santa Barbara men's tennis team, which dropped a 5-2 decision to 75th-ranked Iowa.
The match started well for UCSB as the Gauchos took the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Iowa, however, came out firing in the singles and quickly took straight set wins at No. 3, No. 6, No. 1 and No. 5 for an insurmountable lead. Anders Dalskov scored the lone singles point for UCSB at No. 22 singles.
The Gauchos will be back on court Friday to take on Yale at 1:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center Courts. The match will be the team's final one prior to final examinations.
