TULSA, Okla. - Thursday will mark the beginning of the main draw singles tournament at the ITA All-American Championships which will have UC Santa Barbara's Nicolas Moreno de Alboran face off against Alabama's Mazen Osama, currently ranked No. 3 in the country.

Moreno de Alboran, ranked No. 32, is coming off a great run at the ITA Oracle Masters which included the UCSB senior ace making it to the final round of the tournament. Despite putting forth a great effort, Moreno de Alboran came up just short losing to USC's Laurens Verboven best him in three sets.

Starting this season ranked No. 32, the highest ranking for a Gaucho in program history shows just how strong Moreno de Alboran was last season as he finished 28-10 overall. To begin this campaign, the New York native has already defeated three ranked opponents, including one that was ranked higher than him.

However, those opponents might not be comparable to Osama whose No. 3 ranking comes as no shock as he finished the year with an 18-8 record including a 15-7 performance in the No. 1 court for the Crimson Tide.

This year, Osama has participated in two other fall tournaments playing well in those as well.

Moreno de Alboran will face Osama at 11:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m. PST, on Thursday, Oct. 4 at Tulsa University. The match can also be watched and live-streamed at this link.
