Galskov, Sultan Earn All-Big West Honors

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Juniors Tobias Galskov and Ziad Sultan led UCSB's All-Big West honorees as Galskov was an All-Big West First Team selection in singles and Sultan was named Second Team All-Big West in singles, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. In doubles, the juniors also earned First Team All-Big West honors as a doubles pairing.

Additionally, freshman Erik Johnsson earned an honorable mention in singles while he and partner Miles Seemann were given an honorable mention in doubles.

Junior Tobias Galskov led the Gauchos at the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles positions during most of the dual season, posting a team-high overall record of 22-9, including a 14-6 record during the dual match season.

Galskov and doubles partner Ziad Sultan recorded a 7-2 record after being paired together at No. 1 doubles mid-way through the season.

Sultan went 17-16 overall and 10-12 in dual matches at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

Freshman Erik Johnsson impressed in his debut season for the Gauchos, recording a 12-10 record in dual matches playing at No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 singles. Johnsson and partner Miles Seemann posted a 7-4 record at No. 2 doubles.

Hawaii's Jonathan Brooklyn was named Big West Player of the Year while Cal Poly's Ben Donovan earned Freshman of the Year honor and his coach, Nick Carless, was announced as Coach of the Year.
