UCSB Relays Place One and Two at American Short Course Championship Meet

AUSTIN. Texas- - Day two for UCSB at the American Short Course Championships at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center proved well with one first place relay finish, a second place relay finish and freshman Katlin Freeman finished fifth in the 200 breast (2:16.58).
On the men's side Curtis Bauer, Bradley Matsumoto, Mason Edwards and Robert Hansen made the winning 200 freestyle relay team, 1:22.786. Bradley Matsumoto took 11th in the 50 free with a time of 20.55. Matsumoto also placed 18th in the 100 back, 51.58. Teammate Brock Roverud took 34th in that event with a time of 52.58. In the 500 free Spencer Ramsey placed 22nd with a time of 4:41.16.
For the women Jamie Lathers, Nadia Dwidar, Jessica Cruzat, and Erin Yamamoto finished second in the 200 free relay. Katlin Freeman placed fifth in the 200 breast. In the 50 free Nadia Dwidar placed 21st (24.16), Jamie Lathers placed 25th (23.79), Jenisse Demeulenaere (24.79) placed 39th and Jessica Cruzat placed 42nd (24.61).
Day three of the American Short Course Championships continues March 4, 2006 with prelims and finals starting at 6pm.
