LAS VEGAS, Nevada - The Gauchos wrap of three days of competition finishing on top scoring a total of 1062 points at the University of Las Vegas Invitational. Both Senior Pat Cary and sophomore Chris Good each took home multiple individual wins contributing to the Gauchos overall success.
Senior Pat Cary won the 200 IM with a time of 1:52.68 and the 100 fly with a time of 48.73. The Gauchos took one, two and three in the 200 fly with Pat Cary leading the charge with a time of 1:47.41, Chris Wiggin came in second, 1:51.85 and Daniel McClary placed third, 1:53.15. Sophomore Chris Good won the 400 IM, 4:00.82, and the 200 back, 1:48.62. Teammate Myles Peck took second in the 200 back, 1:48.81 and won the 200 free, 1:39.96. The Gauchos also won the 800 free relay with a time of 6:45.17.
Other good swims of the meet included Brooks Fulton in the 500 free finishing with a 4:29.74 taking second. Transfer student Matt Sullivan took second in the 50 free, 21.21, and was a member of the winning 800 free relay team.
The Gauchos take a break from classes and continue training for their next home meet on January 6, 2007 against USC.
