SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – In the classic Halloween weekend dual meet matchup against, UC Santa Barbara swept the men and women of Cal Poly. Chris Nolan, Billy Mullis, Logan Hotchkiss and Jonathan Panchak each recorded a pair of individual wins to lead the Gaucho men into a victory over the Cal Poly men with a final score of 161-129. Cheyenne Low, Julia Mikota and Heaven Quintana also each racked up two individual wins, helping the Gaucho women finish the meet with a final score of 171-123.
UCSB "A" relay (1:42.66) kicked off the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay. The UCSB men's "A" relay followed suit by winning the men's 200 medley relay with a time of 1:31.15.
Rachel Forbes (10:16.92) and Logan Hotchkiss (9:27.86) both touched first in the 1000 yard freestyle.
Catherine Boles (53.09) and Emily Ward (1:54.65) went one-two in the women's 200 freestyle. Cheyenne Low (55.11) and Allie Stevens (56.90) also picked up a one-two win in the 100 yard backstroke.
Billy Mullis touched first in both the 100 (49.30) and 200 backstrokes (1:48.94)
Heaven Quintana (1:03.15) and Jonathan Panchak (56.18) each picked up wins in the 100 breaststroke heats. Both grabbed another individual win, Panchak (2:04.17) in the 200 breaststroke, and Quintana (54.87) in the 100 butterfly.
Chris Nolan swept both of the butterfly events placing first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:49.04, and the 100 butterfly with a time of 50.42.
Julia Mikota dominated the sprint freestyle events, winning the 50 freestyle with a 23.88 and the 100 freestyle with a time of 51.86.
The men's sprint freestyles were dominated by two freshmen: Riley Ferguson (20.80) in the 50 freestyle and Matthew Elkington (46.47) in the 100 freestyle.
Cheyenne Low (2:00.46) picked up her second individual win of the day in the 200 backstroke. Allie Stevens (2:06.56) and Melissa Mullis (2:06.76) followed in second and third.
Gauchos dominated the final event, with the women going one-two in the 200 IM and the men going one-two-three. For the women, Alyssa Shew (2:06.40) touched first, Heaven Quintana (2:06.68) in second. For the men, Jake Rollo (1:54.43) touched first, Jonathan Panchek (1:54.47) in second, Andy Lau (1:54.89) in third.
Both "A" relays finished first in the 400 free relay.
