2015-16: Medical redshirt.
2013-14: Finished first in the 200 back (2:03.76) against Cal Poly and Hawaii...Won the 200 breaststroke versus UNLV with a time of 2:02.94...Won both the 100 (56.89) and 200 breaststroke (2:03.51) against University of the Pacific...Was victorious in the 100 and 200 breaststroke again at Cal Poly, finishing in 57.13 and 2:05.31, respectively...Won the 100 breaststroke (56.23) against Stanford...Finished 15th in the 200 breaststroke (1:58.72), andd 17th in the 100 breaststroke (54.35) at Pac-12 Championships, earning NCAA cuts in both events.
2012-13: Finished 12th overall in the 200 breaststroke (1:59.33) and 23rd overall in the 200 IM (1:50.53) at the Pac-12 Championships…Placed seventh overall in the 200 breaststroke (2:01.08) and 18th overall in the 200 IM (1:51.66) at the Arena Invitational in Long Beach, Calif. on Nov. 17…Won multiple events with victories in the 100 breaststroke (58.28) and the 200 breaststroke (2:05.46) in a meet victory over rival Cal Poly on Nov. 3…Achieved an NCAA ‘B’ cut time in the 200 breaststroke.
Graduated from Stockdale High School which competes in CIF Division I…Earned All-League in 2009…Named Swimmer of the Year in 2011…Helped his team to win two league championships…Also swam for Bakersfield Swim Club under coach Keith Moore.
Andres, “Andy,” Castilleja was born January 20, 1994 in Oxnard, Calif...Is majoring in Geography at UCSB and aspires to become Head Swim Coach at an elite college...Enjoys shooting at the range, snowboarding, body surfing, and lifting in his free time…Lists his top pre-race pump up song as "Tic Tac Toe" by Logic...Enjoys snacking on Cliff Bars before a meet...Began swimming at age 4...Favorite aspect of college swimming is the team...If he could add an event to each meet it would be 25's underwater (no breathing).
