The No. 11 seed UC Santa Barbara Gauchos have announced that the kickoff time for the second round game of the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26. Santa Barbara enters the match after earning a first round bye and will take on the winner of Cal vs. San Jose State.
The Gauchos finished the season with a 15-4-1 overall record and claimed second-place in the Big West with a conference mark of 7-3-0. After losing a tough match to Cal State Northridge, UCSB has won its last three matches, shutting out its final two opponents.
Cal hosts San Jose State in the first round game of the tournament in its third consecutive NCAA appearance. The Bears finished the season 10-8-2 overall and 5-4-1 in the Pac-10. San Jose State finished the year 12-6-2 and won the MPSF with a conference mark of 5-1-0. The two will square off Friday, Nov. 21 at 1:30 p.m. in Berkeley.
Competing on the other side of the bracket are Connecticut and Rhode Island. The winner of that game will play St. John's, who also earned a first round bye. If the Gauchos can come up with a victory, they will either travel to St. John's to face the Red Storm, or they will host Connecticut or Rhode Island.
