UCSB's Match With Harvard Moved To Harder Stadium

Sept. 22, 2007

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara's non-conference match with No. 6 Harvard, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday, has been moved from Loyola Marymount's Sullivan Field to Harder Stadium because of poor field conditions at LMU, it was announced Saturday. Kickoff for the match is still slated for 1:30 p.m.

Sunday's contest was originally scheduled to take place in Los Angeles as part of this weekend's LMU Invitational. The UCSB and Harvard coaching staffs decided late Friday night to move the contest to Santa Barbara after heavy rainfall in the L.A. area on Friday resulted in undesirable conditions at Sullivan Field.

The Crimson (6-1-0) lost for the first time this season, dropping a 3-2 decision at Loyola Marymount Friday afternoon, while the Gauchos (3-2-1) posted a 5-1 home victory over Columbia. Sunday's match will be UCSB's third against a ranked opponent in its last four overall.

The UC Santa Barbara women's team will still play it's home match-up with San Diego State as scheduled, Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m.
