Aug. 19, 2009
The nationally-ranked UCSB men's soccer team opens its 2009 season at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 22 with an exhibition game against Westmont College. Season tickets are being distributed all week and on Tuesday, several fortunate fans had their tickets hand-delivered by Gaucho mascot Olé.
"Olé didn't say anything, but the people really connected with him," said UCSB Athletics Ticket Manager Alison Keck. "Getting fans their season tickets on time is important and Olé did his part to make it happen."
Men's soccer fans, new this year, donations to The Gaucho Fund - regardless of the sport it supports - will be part of the "One Donation is Gold" system. This allows donors to purchase priority/premium seating and parking at UCSB games across several sports in addition to other benefits.
