His personal goal for the season is to "help the team to the final four [College Cup]"...2002: The physical midfielder was a Second Team All-Big West selection after ending the year fifth in the nation and second in the conference in total assists, he ended the year sixth in the nation averaging 0.71 assists per game...McGill undoubtedly had one of the best single-season performances in UCSB history, finishing the year with fifteen assists, a number that would have been the second-highest in school history had it not been for teammate Memo Arzate's 18, instead it stand as the third-best performance...His assist total also stands as the second-best single season showing in Big West history, and once again barring Arzate, it would have stood as the best...His three goals were the second most by a midfielder, bring his season point total to 21, tying him for fourth on the team and eighth in the Big West...Averaged 1.00 points per game, placing eight in conference...Led UCSB with nine assists in conference action, and finished tied for third on the with 13 total points...His 20 starts where the most made by a midfielder on the season...Fired in the game-winner on a PK at Cal Poly before turning around and assisting on the ensuing insurance goal...Led team with four multi-assist games, including the 2-0 win at Cal State Fullerton to clinch a second straight Big West title...Used a free-kick outside the box to set-up UCSB's first goal of the season...Fed teammate Rob Friend for the game-winner against USD in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the Gauchos' first-ever post-season goal...Needs just one goal to break into the Big West career top-ten after just one season.

"It means a great deal. I wish I could have spent all four years at [UCSB]. It is going to be a powerhouse. This is the best team I've played on, not technically, but because of the 100% commitment from everyone on the team."
