Appeared in 19 matches for UCSB as a sophomore, starting a total of 11 times, including the first eight to start the season...Also got the nod in the Gauchos' home quarterfinal match against Virginia Commonwealth (12/4) in the NCAA Tournament...Notched his firstcareer assist in 4-0 win over UNLV (9/26)...Was a big part of a UCSB defense that posted a school-record and nation's best 15 shutouts and a 0.53 goals against average.
Curry earned the Gauchos' Freshman of the Year award after anchoring the Big West's top-ranked defense to a 1.02 goals against average...He started all 20 of the matches in which he appeared, the most of any freshman, missing two games during the course of the season due to an accumulation of yellow cards...Booked a team-high nine yellow cards...Played in the middle of UCSB's defense that held opponents to 23 goals in 22 matches and one goal or less in 17 of them.
A member of the NorCal and Region IV Olympic Development teams...Spent time with the Sacramento Sounders and San Juan Predators in the club ranks...Helped the Predators to the California State Cup title in 2002 and 2003...Also earned a Nomads Tournament Championship with San Juan...Netted six goals in seven matches in the 2003 State Cup playing center-back...Saw action against such opponents as the Serano Golden Eagles, Ohio Thunder, and the Chicago Magic.
