SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship is down to eight teams with hopes of competing in the College Cup hosted by UC Santa Barbara at Harder Stadium next weekend. The pair of semifinal matches will take place on Friday, Dec. 7 at 5:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. with the title game to played on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 5:00 p.m.

After upsetting No. 1 seed Wake Forest, 1-0, in the third round, Akron is set to face No. 9 Stanford, who keeps its four-peat hopes alive after advancing past undefeated St. Mary's on penalty kicks. The winner of Akron/Stanford will face the winner of James Madison/Michigan State after both teams defeated ranked opponents in back-to-back rounds.
The other side of the bracket features a pair of heavyweight matchups between No. 11 Maryland/No. 3 Kentucky and No. 7 Notre Dame/No. 2 Indiana. The Terrapins upset No. 6 Duke, 2-0, in the third round and will face a Kentucky Wildact team that needed a late goal to upend Lipscomb 2-1, but downed Portland 4-0 in its opening second round match.
Notre Dame managed a golden goal in overtime to edge No. 10 Virginia, 1-0, and will face Indiana, the 2017 National runner-ups, who have outscored its two opponents 6-0 thus far in the tournament.
