• The Gauchos Take Washington, Part One
UCSB will head to Spokane, Wash. this weekend for the first of two trips this season to the Evergreen State. The Gauchos will be taking part in the Gonzaga Nike Classic and will take-on Oregon State on Friday afternoon before facing host Gonzaga on Sunday. UCSB will be looking to improve its records against the Northwest teams as it has just one win over the pair.

• Listen Live!
Gerry Fall, the Voice of the Gauchos, will be calling all of this weekend's action from Gonzaga Soccer Field. The free online audio broadcasts can be listened here

• Let's Check The Polls
UCSB is a consensus top-10 team in five of the major college soccer polls this week. The Gauchos maintained their No. 4 ranking in the Soccer America poll, moved up two spots to No. 7 in the poll and are No. 9 in the NSCAA, Soccer Times and College Soccer News polls.

• Season Opens With Wild Win
The Gauchos' season opener last Sunday at Loyola Marymount was a wild one. After Achille Campion put the Gauchos ahead in the 12th minute, UCSB held a 1-0 advantage heading into the waning minutes of the contest. A free kick by LMU's Craig Nitti tied the game with just under two minutes to go. Nic Ryan scored a header off of a cross from Ema Boateng just 36 seconds later to clinch the win for UCSB and to stave off overtime. The Gauchos have won four of their last five season-openers.

• Ryan's Heroics Honored
Senior midfielder Nic Ryan was honored with LA Soccer News Men's Player of the Week accolades for his game-winning header on Sunday. The game-clincher marked the third of his career at UCSB.

• Lights, Cameras, Gauchos!
UCSB will once again host a pair of matches that will be broadcast live by FOX Soccer as the NSCAA's College Game of the Week. The Gauchos can be watched on televisions nationwide on Sept. 21 when they host UCLA in a 6 p.m. pairing and again on Oct. 19 when Cal Poly comes to town for a 7 p.m. match-up.

• The Vom Steeg File
In his 14th year leading the Gauchos, head coach Tim Vom Steeg is the winningest coach in Big West history. Vom Steeg has posted a 187-72-27 record at the helm of UCSB and a 166-55-26 record since the program rejoined the Big West in 2001. Vom Steeg is also the winningest coach in UCSB men's soccer history and has turned the Gauchos into an annual national title contender. The 2004 and 2006 NSCAA National Coach of the Year, Vom Steeg guided the Gauchos to the NCAA title in 2006 and the championship game in 2004. He has guided UCSB to five Big West titles in the past 10 years and 10 consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament. He won Big West Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2004, 2005 and 2010 and has produced 17 All-Americans.
