Pontius and Kiffe Picked in MLS Supplemental DraftSenior defenders Tim Pontius and James Kiffe were both selected during Tuesday’s Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft, bringing the total count of 2012 UC Santa Barbara draft picks to four. Seattle Sounders FC selected Pontius in the Second Round (33rd overall) and San Jose Earthquakes drafted Kiffe in the Fourth Round (63rd overall).

Luis Silva Named MAC Hermann Trophy SemifinalistUC Santa Barbara senior midfielder Luis Silva has been named a semifinalist for the 2011 Missouri Athletic Club’s Hermann Trophy. He is the first Gaucho to be named to the list of semifinalists since Chris Pontius in 2008.
