Grush Named a Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar for 2007-08

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara golfer Matt Grush has been selected as an NCAA Division I Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar for 2007-08, it was announced this week. The honor is presented annually by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

In 2008, Grush was a sophomore in terms of eligibility but a junior in terms of class standing. He is a 3.40 student majoring in business economics.

In addition to his outstanding performance in the classroom, the Los Angeles native had a solid 2007-08 season. He finished second on the team for lowest stroke average, checking in at 74.47 shots per round. He played in 10 of the Gauchos' 11 tournaments for the season, equaling the second highest total on the squad. Grush had three top-20 finishes, including a personal best fourth-place finish at UC Riverside's Braveheart Classic.
