UCSB Golf Sits In Eighth Place After First Two Rounds Of Big West Tournament

El Dorado Hills, Calif. - Naoya Takemoto, Jeff Wood and Gavin Owen each reside in 14th-place with two round scores of 148 and the UC Santa Barbara golf team is in eighth place after the first day of the 2000 Big West Championship Tournament at Serrano Country Club in El Dorado Hills, Calif.

New Mexico State leads the tournament after the first two rounds with a score of 583, two shots ahead of second-place Idaho (585), four shots ahead of Long Beach State (587) and five shots up on fourth-place Pacific (588). The Gauchos, with their 598, are 15 shots off the pace.

The final round will be played Tuesday.
