RENO, Nevada - Scott Lewis shot a 2-over par 146 to help UC Santa Barbara to an eighth-place finish at the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nev., on Tuesday. The final round of the three-round tournament was rained out on Tuesday and the Monday finish was finalized after two rounds. UCSB shot a 589 to finish two shots back of Idaho.
Lewis, who played in the 2009 U.S. Open, shot a 74 in the first round and then had an even-par 72 in the second round to finish with a 146. Glen Scher shot a 4-over 146 and both Andrew Gunson and Jesse Ferris shot 5-over par 149. Scher tied for 33rd while Gunson and Ferris each tied for 39th.
Gaucho junior Tyler Weir also finished among the top-50. Weir carded a 6-over par 150 and tied for 46th out of nearly 80 golfers.
The University of San Diego won the tournament by recording a 564. The Toreros finished 12 shots ahead of the host school, Nevada, which scored 576. Fresno State shot 577 to finish in third place while San Francisco and Washington State each shot 578 to finish in fourth.
San Diego's Alex Ching shot a 7-under par 137 to win the individual championship.
UCSB returns to action on Oct. 25 when it travels to the Saint Mary's Invitational at The Bayonet & Blackhorse Golf Club in Monterey, Calif.
