Greg Snider Places 19th As Golf Finishes 13th At Western Intercollegiate

Santa Cruz, Calif. - Greg Snider shot 217, including a season-best 67 in the second round, as the UC Santa Barbara golf team finished 13th at the 56th annual Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Course in Santa Cruz.

The Gauchos shot rounds of 295, 292 and 299 en route to their 13th-place finish. UCSB finished one-shot back of Nevada and three shots behind Long Beach State. The University of Washington won the tournament with an 834, 20 shots ahead of second-place Fresno State, which shot 354. Husky Conner Robbins won the individual tournament with a 202, shooting under 70 in all three rounds.

Other UCSB finishers included Brian Six, who finished tied for 44th at 223, and a trio of Gauchos, Scott Linklater, J.R. Becko and Jeff Greenfield, tied for 61st at 227.

The Gauchos return to action on April 19 and 20 when they travel to the Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah.
