Final Round of Big West Tournament Cancelled; Epstein Finishes Tied for 7th

SAN JACINTO, Calif. - Jordan Epstein shot a 1-under par 71 and remains tied for seventh after two rounds at the 2014 Big West Conference Men's Golf Championship at The Country Club at Soboba Springs. As a team, UC Santa Barbara is in ninth-place. With the third round cancelled because of windy conditions, the second round acts as the final round.

Epstein, who shot a even-par 72 in the first round, was outstanding again on Monday. He tied with David Gazzolo of UC Riverside, seven shots off the pace set by individual medalist Matt Hansen of UC Davis who carded an 8-under par. Nainoa Calip of Hawaii, Kyler Sauer of Cal State Northridge and Mark Anguiano of Cal State Fullerton all tied for second at 3-under par, while Kevin Lee of Long Beach State and UC Irvine's Ryan Knapp were 2-under.

As a team, Fullerton won its second straight title. The Titans finished with a narrow 2-shot victory over UC Davis, 578-580. Riverside was third (586), Long Beach State fourth (587) and UC Irvine fifth (588). The Gauchos were 24 shots back at 602.

Glen Scher and Brett Silvernail tied for 24th-place at 7-over par 151.
