Scher Disqualified at NCAA San Diego Regional

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. - Sophomore Glen Scher, the first UC Santa Barbara golfer in more than a decade to compete in an NCAA Regional, was disqualified after he signed an incorrect scoreboard following Thursday's first round.

Competing at the NCAA's San Diego Regional The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., Scher struggled in the first round, shooting an 11-over par 83 to tie for 73rd. The score he signed for, 83, had been miscalculated, resulting in a breach of rule 6-6.b and resulting in his disqualification.
