May 30, 2006

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Sophomore forwards Chidi Ajufo and Chris Moore will leave the UC Santa Barbara basketball program, head coach Bob Williams announced Tuesday.

Ajufo will transfer to Azusa Pacific, an NAIA school in the Los Angeles area, while Moore is undecided on his future.

"We wish the best to Chidi and Chris in the future," Williams said. "The program appreciates their time and effort during their stay at UCSB."

Ajufo was added to the Gaucho roster during the summer of 2005 after playing one season at Pensacola Junior College in Florida. The 6-foot-6 native of Lagos, Nigeria, played in 14 games during the 2005-06 season, averaging 1.2 points and 1.0 rebounds per game. He played a total of 72 minutes.

Moore played two seasons at UCSB. He was recruited out of St. Edward's High School in Cleveland. As a freshman in 2004-05, he played 167 minutes in 17 games and averaged 2.1 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. In 2005-06, he logged just 87 minutes in 13 games, averaging 1.5 points and 0.9 rebounds per outing.
