Alex Harris scored 46 points in two wins to help the Gauchos to a share of the Big West regular season title and the No. 1 seed heading into the league tournament.
Harris, a 6-6 guard, averaged 23.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in victories at Cal State Northridge (77-66) and Long Beach State (70-68 in OT).
His free throw with 0.3 seconds remaining in overtime at Long Beach State broke a tie and helped UCSB to the overtime triumph. He finished with 21 points, hitting 6 of 11 from the field and 8 of 9 at the free throw line.
In the win over the Matadors, Harris posted 25 points, seven rebounds and three steals. The Alameda, Calif. native went to the free throw line 16 times, converting 12 attempts, and added a trio of threes in the game.
Harris notched his 14th and 15th games with 20 or more points this season. He shot 80.0% (20 of 25) from the free throw line for the week.
Harris was also named the Big West Player of the Week for the third time this season. In addition, he was tabbed the Big West Co-Player of the Year along with Scott Cutley of Cal State Fullerton.
