Senior forward Chris Devine scored a career-high 29 points, grabbed five rebounds, and passed off for a season-high four assists, as the Gauchos overcame a 10-point deficit to edge Cal Poly on Feb. 14, 68-66. Devine scored 12 of UCSB's final 16 points, including two free throws with 7.3 seconds left to seal the win.
In addition, with his five rebounds, the Eagle River, Alaska native has moved into UCSB's top-five all-time in rebounding. Already the fourth leading scorer in school history, Devine is one of just two players in school history to rank among the top-five in both categories.
He now has 1,488 points and 668 rebounds.
Other nominee: Jenna Green had 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the UCSB women's basketball team to a 66-62 win at Cal Poly on Feb. 14. The win improved the Gauchos' Big West record to 11-0.
