SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP)- UC Santa Barbara gave up its fewest point total in nearly a decade while scoring a 66-36 basketball win over Westmont College Wednesday night.

The Gauchos (3-2) held Westmont (3-3), an NAIA school, to just 24.1 percent shooting and zero 3-pointers in five attempts. It was the fewest points allowed by a UCSB team since a 53-33 win over Utah State in January of 1994.

Cecil Brown scored 11 of his game-high 16 points in the second half to help UCSB pull away from a 25-17 halftime lead. The Gauchos, who shot just 40.7 percent in the first half, warmed up to finish at an even 50.

Bryan Whitehead added 10 points for UCSB while Cameron Goettsche grabbed 11 rebounds.

Westmont was led by Kevin Blomstrom with nine points. The 30-point deficit was the worst in John Moore's 11 years as the Warriors' coach.
