IRVINE, Calif. (AP) - Branduinn Fullove scored 22 points to lead UC Santa Barbara to a 70-54 victory over UC Irvine Thursday night.
Fullove, the sixth leading scorer in the Big West Conference at 15.2 points per game, shot 8-of-10 from the field as the Gauchos (9-9, 6-2 Big West) moved into a first-place tie with Utah State in the conference.
The Anteaters (11-6, 5-3) lost for just the third time in their last 11 games and for only the fourth time in their last 36 home games.
Midway through the second half, Hull tied the Gauchos' career 3-point scoring mark. Hull has now scored 196 3-pointers in his career, tying former Gaucho Carrick DeHart.
After Mike Hood gave UC Irvine a 16-15 lead on a four-point play midway through the first half, UC Santa Barbara outscored the Anteaters 23-8 over the final 9:31 of the half to take a 38-24 lead at the break.
The Gauchos led by as many as 21 points as UC Irvine never got closer than 12 points in the second half.
Jeff Gloger led Irvine with 13 points as the Anteaters were held to their lowest scoring output of the season.
